‘There’s no substitute for Walkers’

We know, not another ad with bloody Beckham in it. But at least we had a bit of fun with him.

Walkers crisps are Britain’s most loved crisps but they’re getting their lunch stolen by cheaper and inferior crisps. So as part of Walkers’ sponsorship of the 2023 Champions League Final at Wembley, we created the ‘There’s no substitute for Walkers’ campaign. We were given two global superstar ambassadors David Beckham and Thierry Henry to play with. So we thought we’d do something a bit different with them. Pretending that Thierry has eaten all the Walkers at Beck’s house just as they’re about to sit down for the match - and then he nips into the local village to knock on real footy fans’ doors and give them the surprise (and time) of their life.

This kicked off a summer of footy for Walkers. Including a special 90” during the final itself, social using all the out-takes and behind the scenes, outdoor, print, Piccadilly Lights and taxis across London. The biggest hit was a special two day event where football fans were beamed onto the Piccadilly Lights during the Champions League Final weekend. Sat next to David and Thierry and celebrating the football. Results incoming.
